Good morning folks!
How was your weekend? I hope it was great; I know mine was! I headed down to Arkdale, WI and got to go fishing and camping on Castle Rock Lake with my boyfriend, Joe, and his family. We had a great time and all acquired some serious mosquito fighting skills… I even caught a decent size catfish!
On another note, I feel like my appreciation and love for nature just grows and grows each day. I could have sat on this lake and taken in the scenery allll day. This picture doesn’t do it justice, but it was gorgeous.
Ok, ok… so you are probably wondering, “what was the discovery?” WELL! We stopped at a small gas station near our campsite… and guess what I found? OV feta cheese! I was so excited to see our product in this little town. It made my trip that much better. I may have sounded a little weird as I shouted, “I work there, I work there!!” in the store, but I seriously could not contain my excitement, ha!
Today at OV I was able to listen in on the dairy staff meeting conference call. I am so happy to be invited to these meetings as it makes me feel involved in the latest happenings. Some of the conversation can be a tad over my head, but it is still awesome to be included! I am currently a little shy when they ask for any updates in my department, but one day I will be brave and chime in! 🙂
The rest of my day will consist of prepping for the regional meetings that I get to attend this week and doing other small projects around the office. I was able to help in planning the Generation Organic event in the West which will be held this week, June 25th and 26th, in Boring, OR. The farmers hosting the event are Gary and Connie Moore at Cloud Cap Farm. I wish I could attend and see all of the planning come to life, but I know that traveling to these regional meetings will be just as fun! I will actually be up in my neck of the woods, so I am hoping to see some familiar faces!
I would also like to give a birthday shout out to Kevin Schleicher! He has been so nice in welcoming me to Organic Valley and is always working hard on the other side of the wall! 🙂 Happy birthday, Kevin! I hope it is wonderful!
Maybe you can drop him a message to say that you “overHERD” it was his special day and that you hope it is “MOO-velous…” haha! I wish I could take credit for those, but I googled them!
That will be all for today! I hope everyone has a GREAT week and keeps on smiling!
