Ahh, another productive and amazing work week at Organic Valley is almost coming to a close! Well, for me at least. As I write that I think about the awesome individuals working in our creameries, cheeseroom, distributions centers, and our milk haulers and truck drivers who work around the clock to make our delicious products come to life! As an intern, I had the opportunity to go on tours of our local facilities with Aaron Pabst and Emily Wittenburg (shout out to Emily for organizing such fun and educational events for the interns!). One of my favorite parts of our tours was being able to see how the milk from our cows was transformed into delicious butter and ghee; I couldn’t believe how much was done by hand! Another cool thing was that different places in the creamery smelled just like our milkhouse used to back in the day!
Friday’s in Chaseburg are really exciting… 🙂 Normally, there are only around 5 people who work in our office, but on Friday’s we have a full house! It was really nice to meet new people today and hear a little more buzzing around in the work place. Another sweet part of the day (pun intended) was that Megan Wilcox brought in some homemade rhubarb cake with whip cream! It was such a thoughtful and yummy treat. Not only is she a fabulous fitness instructor, but a great baker as well!
I won’t be in the office most of next week because guess what!? I get to travel to regional meetings in our area! I could not be more excited to meet our farmers, spend time on some of our beautiful farms, and soak up the experience. I will keep you updated! Until next time…. cheers! (Oh, and have a great weekend!)
p.s. How beautiful and peaceful is this?
